Was glad to get to visit Dad on Friday. He loved his family and enjoyed many friends throughout his life time. He was proud to have served in World War II. Carpentry was a life long job which he enjoyed. He made things the old fashioned craftsman way, with pride and built to last. We all know he enjoyed growing vegetables and sharing them with others. To John's family: We all lost a very special man Friday night. People come and people go in everyone's lives. John touched my heart as I know he has touched many others. I will miss bringing him Brick Oven cornbread in the morning w/ DD coffee and all his stories.He taught me so much about living off the land and berries and mushrooms and farming.
