Gladys Yelton

Hickory, North Carolina

Guest Book

Not sure what to say?

I will always remember Gladys' smile and her gentle way as I was growing up in Hickory. She and Dr. Yelton meant so much to our church family and especially to our family members, Arybell and Richard Hatley. I hope her long-living genes are part of David and Melissa's DNA.

Grandmother Yelton is my hero in every way. She was crazy about her husband, she adored her children. She could stretch a penny farther than anyone else. She learned the secret of being content, " I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength." I want to be just like her when I grow up!!

As a young boy, I will always remember the times I spent vacationing with my friend David and the rest of the Yelton family at Hungry Mother State Park in SW Virginia and at the beach in SC. Even when I spilled my chocolate milk twice in one morning, Gladys still patiently let me make a third glass which I finally drank with no further ado. Gladys your kindness to all and your gentle humor will always be happy memories for me.
