Margaret and Glyn - Friends and Shared Moments
We became friends through the marriage of our children, Melissa and Bruce. We were always welcome in each others home. We shared precious moments with the birth of our first grandchild, Sarah. Together we watched her grow to the wonderful individual she is today. When she and Derek met and married we were a part of that, the beautiful wedding and reception. Another time of sharing, when Sarah finished her education at Texas State University.
Something else we shared is Sarah and Derek's children, Annabelle and Edward (Eddie), our great-grand children. Whoever thought we would be around for that joyful time.
We shared in Family Get-To-Gethers, birthday parties, graduations and weddings in your family along with your grandchildren. We watched and enjoyed seeing each one as they grew. Some of your grandchildren even called us Grandma and Granddaddy.
Thanks for the Memories, Glyn. We enjoyed our good times together. Would not have missed it for anything. It has been our pleasure to know you.

I knew Glyn because my brother Bruce married his daughter Melissa. From the time I spent with Glyn, and from listening to his children talk about him, I remember him as a man of integrity, accompanied by a good sense of humor.
When I think about Glyn's life and read some of the other posts, what comes to mind is that Glyn was extraordinary in the way that he took on responsibilities -- responsibilities for his community like being a teacher, a coach and a principal. He accepted responsibility and he faithfully executed his responsibilities. He applied the principle of living up to his responsibilities in his personal life as well.
My prayers go out to Margaret, and Melissa and the whole family. He has left a lot behind for many people to cherish.

Our prayers are with you, Margaret, and all your extended family. Be comforted by your faith in Everlasting Life and precious memories of Glyn's life and love. As Isabel Norton wrote, "Those we hold most dear never truly leave us...they live on in the kindness they showed, the comfort they shared, and the love they brought into our lives." We wish you the healing power of many beautiful memories.

Blessings and prayers for His peace that surpasses all our understanding to your family! Ebarb...such a well known name and even more so, a well known family in the town of Vinton! What a wonderful legacy Mr. Ebarb leaves having touched so many lives in his career as a teacher, a coach, and an administrator. I love the hope the Word gives us in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 that we'll see him again! Praying for your sweet family. Thankful for the influence the Ebarb family has had in my life!

I will miss him at our worship services. Glyn and I were the 2 old geezers that sat in the back. He was a wonderful friend, faithful believer, a true Patriot, kind and gentle man; who taught many of us how to live with humility and dignity; and by his example - our faith grew. They just don't make them like him anymore. May God rest his soul and grant mercy and comfort to his family.

Mr Ebarb made a huge impact on all of us at a very impressionable age. ....As a middle school teacher, he was 'larger than life' to all of us, and will remain as that beacon of light in the lives of all he so selflessly touched.

Coach Glyn Ebarb will be greatly missed by the many thousands of students that have had the privilege of knowing and befriending this gentle giant of a man. From his early days at the Rec Center to his many years teaching and coaching Jr. High School scholastics and athletics, he will be remembered as a man of extreme integrity, tremendous honesty, commitment to making all students better adults in preparing them for life beyond high school. His love and compassion for so many of us will be greatly missed. His beloved memories will forever remain in the minds and souls of everyone, especially the men and woman that spent precious time with him during his tutorial sessions on life and its many different paths of travel. He gave his time, his love, his attention, and shared positive attitudes with all of us as we made our way through the high school ranks to become prepared seniors for the world of unexpected circumstances and challenges after high school graduation. His positive attitude, his strict disciplinary attitude along with his love of play made him unique to the times of our youth. He was every young man and young women's father with strict attention to helping everyone become better citizens with integrity and commitment to growing our lives accordingly. He most certainly deserves a life size memorial status in his honor for the 50 years of unwaivering commitment to all of the students passing through the Vinton High School system. Everyone graduated and departed the school system with a specific goal in mind to succeed in all that we do in life. Mr. Ebarb was certainly that driving force and throughout his tenure he never picked anyone as more special than another. His open door policy was meant to everyone with the desire to "open his door" and seek his advice. How could anyone not miss that caliber of a champion that dedicated his life in one community for the sake of making a tremendous difference for the childen within that special community. He maintained a Badge of Honor that has integral meaning of honor, integrity, trustworthiness, compassion, and enormous willpower to "make a difference" in his life long community.
He is loved by many and will be missed by everyone. Our thoughts and prayers are for the family and friends of Coach Glyn Ebarb during his passing through this world. God bless him. I sure will miss him and love him dearly.
