Grady was truly a christian and the "gentle giant"in his efforts to bring competitive sports to the shoals.

Shirley, I know you were an influence behind this multitalented man. Without your support, I am sure he couldn't have done all that he did. My heart goes out to you in this sad time. Even though the miles have separated us for many years, I still have wonderful memories of you and the TriCities area.

When I moved to the Shoals, Grady was one of the first people I met, He instantly became a friend and never gave me a hard time about being a Jax State Booster.I enjoyed those long BB road trips in the rental van with Grady and the other sportsman club members, and ate for the first time at Cracker Barrel in Cullman. He was always a gentleman and even though I have been gone from the Shoals for over 20 years I have fond memories of Grady and his pet Turkey and I thank him for letting me be a...
