Not sure what to say?

Went to high school with Harlan and AZA also. Had some great memories. Remember meeting him at his parents apartment on East End.

A friend of my family in the 60s, Harlan became a sounding board for me these last few years. Forever grateful.

Harlen was a encyclopedia of knowledge. Miss him very much.

Sincere condolences to family and friends. Rest in peace Harlan, see you soon !!!

Our friendship was a gift. I am in awe of his range of knowledge whether sports, writing, humor, or Chicago street life. I join the many, many others who mourn his passing.

An absolute one of a kind! We just loved him.

My sincerest condolences to Jason Wolfe Cameron and Robin. Dave Ungerleider

Harlan was great neighbor, always friendly, willing to help out whenever he was asked. It was a pleasure to know him these past 18 years we've been neighbors. A mensch to the nth! His memoirs and comments on the world we inhabit were a joy to read, a window to his intellect, his passions, and love for his family. I will miss him.

Harlan's love of conversation, the White Sox,Chicago history, the South Side, the Jewish life will be missed. This man of poetry,of unique verse will be remembered fondly
