Not sure what to say?

To Okie and Pastor Ed's family: Our thoughts and prayers are with
you. We have such good memories of Pastor Ed and Okie when
you were at Waverly Place Baptist in Roanoke. We are "Snoopy"
fans also and we shared many happy times with you.

I will never forget the 11th grade Bible classes in the chapel with the Chaplain. One requirement of the course was to speak at one of the chapel times before the cadets. He also "gently" guided me into taking public speaking for which I am so thankful. He was so easy to approach and talk to - yet he would confront you when needed. I am so grateful to have been his student at FUMA and afterwards have a part with him in local churches and functions. What a great blessing he was to...

Some 38 years have rolled away since my days as a FUMA cadet, but fond memories remain of Ed's kindness, humility, and Christian example. He made a positive difference is so many lives. The apostle Paul's words describe Ed: " I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith... henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness...." Thanks Ed.

Chaplin Nicholson was such an inspiration to me as a kid growing up in Fork Union and as a student at FUMA. My prayers go out to Okie, Warren, David, and Cindy. God Bless You.

Chaplain Nicholson had more influence on me and my faith than pretty much anyone. I was able to experience his insight on Christ and life 3 times a week for many years- what I enjoyed most was when I had him as a teacher for religious studies- he made me want to learn more about God and created an appetite to read The Bible every day. It is exactly what a perfect minister will do in life. I will miss you.

thanks for many great years.john shotwell

When I think of Pastor Ed, fond Memories of Love fill my heart! God Blessed Us All who were privileged to know Him! I return this Love to Okie and family and know Heaven has another Angel that We will again see one day! God Bless You!

To Cindy, David, Warren and of course dear Okie -- you know the entire Blair family has you all in our thoughts and prayers, as we are ALL a part of that special extended Fork Union family. There is no other soul who embodied the spirit of Fork Union and all that it stands for more than Chaplain Nicholson. I always looked forward to our Thursday morning chapel sessions during my years as a cadet, during which he would never fail to impart unique perspectives, compelling life lessons and...

Mr. Ed's Family. We will miss him dearly. Whenever Mom came to visit we would look to see if we could find you all so she could talk with him. He always helped when she needed it. It seemed the same with us. Remember Derek, my youngest son was born with a heart problem and for his surgeries we had to go to UVA. It was amazing that we either saw Mr. Ed or David everytime we were there. It was also a help just to talk with him for a while and even see David cause I knew Mr. Ed was close....
