Harold Archie "Hal" Pelton

A belated condolence as I just discovered Hal's passing. I was a student of Hal's and he was the number 1 teacher of all time for me. He inspired many of us to love rocks and gave me a great appreciation for the all the geology around us. I have thought about him often and still find myself crawling around rock formations with a rock hammer in hand. He left his mark on many of us.
