Not sure what to say?

Hal would be pleased to know that, a few weeks ago, St. Mark's Mideast Focus Ministry (of which Hal was a founding leader) held a conference, The Holy Land-What's Next? in which seven faith leaders met at St. Mark's to discuss the ongoing plight of Palestinians. Sixty people appeared in person and 150 via the internet. Hal's legacy is alive and well.

Hal would be pleased to know that the Mideast Focus Ministry (formerly Palestinian Concerns Group) is alive and well at St. Mark´s Cathedral. Hal planted the seed and it continues to flourish.

On this anniversary of Hal Rooks' passing, we are reminded of his remarkable presence among us for eighty years. Remembering his faith and witness to goodness, we are better able to model our own lives in the right paths--those paths in which Hal and others go before us to guide our way.

I can't think of any man I've ever met who modeled so well the traits of human decency to which we should all aspire. This was grounded in his faith and his life experiences. The fact that he witnessed bad behavior in the world didn't seem to stop his path of faith in humanity. We need to remember the wisdom and example of people like Hal Rooks!

Rest in peace Hal...Love Janet

Had dinner in Chinatown, Seattle with Mr. Rooks a few times quite a chap to listen to. Thanks for your service to our Country. "Sailor, Rest Your Oar" Respectfully, Michael Grow
