Not sure what to say?

Harvey G lived in the room at Sewell Hall above mine. He was rarely there as he was running internationally. When he did come back from overseas he was such a joy to be around. When he walked into the dining room at Sewell Hall, his energy lit up the room. He was a first class gentleman and true Olympic champion both on and off the track. Rest in peace Harvey G.

I was a third grade student at Matthews Elementary in Columbus, Ga when Mr. Glance visited our classroom. I remember he sat with us and talked with us, always smiling. He had a gold medal with him and I was a curious child, so asked if I could touch it. He said, "Here, try it on," and put it on me. I have shared that story so many times about the kindness and smile of Mr. Glance. My condolences.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Uncle Harvey "Edward", I think about you every single day, I try not to cry, but I can't help but miss all of your laughter and how you would just be here with us having a great time. But I know you are in the right place with our sweet family above, so I made this picture in comfort to remind myself and every else who may feel the same that they are celebrating you there at this very moment that you are there, WHAT A JOY! Until we meet again, I love you eternity. Your niece/baby...

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

Harvey and I personally got to coach together at Auburn University his first five years there. I was incredibly sadden to hear of his passing as the two of us got along famously and had so many great memories together. I left Auburn in 1996 to move back to Oregon to help with my parents. We stayed in touch and forever had a friendship out of love and appreciation of each other. He was such a wonderful spirit of a person. Love to his family and I was happy to make his funeral and celebration...
