Congregation Ezras Israel of Rockville, a member of the OU, (the shul accross Montrose Rd from Sam and Deborah's house) is deeply saddened at the untimely loss of a friend and neighbor. I am shocked and saddened to hear of the loss of Hazzan Deborah Togut. I was a few classes behind her at JTS. Although we had not seen or spoken to each other in years, she had my admiration and respect as a colleague. She was loving Neshama, a true soul and a humble human being. May God comfort her family, friends and local community.
