Mrs. Helen Clarke Fowler of Marietta, GA, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 7, 2017. Born in Stephens County, she was a daughter of the late Craig Arnold and Maybelle Vickery Clarke.
Helen graduated from Stephens County High School and after attending business school she became the fourth employee of now Franklin Financial. She married and moved to California where her husband was enrolled in a college of aeronautical engineering, moving back to Marietta in 1951 when her husband joined Lockheed Aircraft Georgia Division. She was a founding member of the East Marietta Junior Woman's Club, a founding member of the American Air Museum in Duxford, England, a founding member of the Beverly Hills Garden Club in East Marietta, and a member of the Mount Paran North Church for over 50 years. Helen was a homemaker, longtime student, teacher, and volunteer at Mount Paran Christian School. She attended the University of Georgia, Georgia State University, and Kennesaw State University attaining degrees in education, history, and sociology. She was an avid reader and collected books on Christian writings, English Historical and classical works, American History, and was a student of the visual arts. Mrs. Fowler was a longtime supporter of the Christian Broadcasting Network and Trinity Broadcasting Network.
Family members include her son, Robert Allen Fowler, Jr., daughter-in-law, Debbie Elaine Fowler; her daughter, Laurel Clarke Robinson; grandsons, Robert Allen Fowler, III, Ashley Clarke Robinson, Geoffrey Clarke Fowler; great-grandchildren, Shea Jones Fowler, Harper June Fowler, and Miles Clarke Fowler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Allen Fowler.
Funeral services will be held at one o'clock Monday, December 11, 2017 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary.
Burial will follow at Roselane Cemetery.
