Helen Catherine Kreuzer, 95, of Mountain Top passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at
Smith's Nursing Home, Mountain Top, PA, with her family by her side.
She was born June 15,1927, in Wilkes Barre, a daughter of the late John and Helen
Kratz-Judge. During World War ll, she worked at Ferenbach's making parachutes at the Empire
Silk Mill in Wilkes Barre, PA, to help in the war effort. Later she worked as a legal secretary for
Attorney Burke at the Veteren's Administration Building in Wilkes Barre. After her marriage to
August J. Kreuzer, she assisted with the family business, the Mountain Top Lawnmower Shop,
and devoted her efforts to her family, whom she dearly loved.
Helen was her family's "angel on earth." She was a true inspiration and sage to her nine
living children. Always with a beautiful smile, Helen was the epitome of unconditional love,
understanding, patience and beauty, shining from within as well as on the outside. She
sacrificed much for her children, always making them feel special and loved equally. She will be
most deeply missed by her family who will cherish her memory forever in their hearts.
Beloved wife of 56 years to August J. Kreuzer, Helen was preceded in death by her husband,
August and their infant daughter, Nancy Ann; brothers, Peter, John, Fred, and Joe Judge;
sisters, Kay Zimmerman, Rose Neukum, and Camella Helfrick; sons-in-law, Michael Lombardo
and James Brando Sr.; Matt McGasko.
Helen leaves behind nine children and their spouses: Linda Kreuzer-Toothill and Bill Toothill,
John and Donna Kreuzer, Betty and Brian Crilley and Noel Kreuzer, all of Mountain Top, PA;
Sandra Brando of Drums, PA; Patricia Lombardo of Kingston, PA; Rose Ann and Bruce Sachs
of Reva, VA; Frank Kreuzer of Amelia Courthouse, VA; Christine Polishan. She is also survived
by 14 grandchildren: Jim, Matthew, Kahle, Chelsea, Kyle, Ashely, Josh, John, Daniel, Aspen,
Julia, Angela, Jonathan, and Richard, as well as eight great - grandchildren; sisters-in-law
Patricia Judge of Mountain Top, PA and Mary Anne Quinn of Monticello, Illinois; several cousins,
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 9:00 am from the McCune
Funeral Home, Mountain Top, PA. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10 am at
Saint Jude's Church, Mountain Top. Interment will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetary in
Drums.
Family and friends are invited to call Monday, December 26, 2022, from 6 to 8 pm at McCune
Funeral Services Inc., 80 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top, PA.
Memorial donations may be made in memory of Helen to the Alzheimer's Association, St.
Jude's Children's Hospital or a charity of choice.
The family of Helen C. Kreuzer would like to thank Smith's Healthcare of Mountain Top for all
the personal care and dedication provided to our mother by the administration, staff, and
physical therapy. So many of you went above and beyond to care for her. Thank you!

Dear Roseanne and family, although we didn’t know your mother personally we do feel like we knew her well via family, etc.. She was well known for her love for her family and her kindness to others. May you all be blessed with God’s Peace, Love, and comfort during this difficult time. I know your mom will always be the Angel on your Christmas tree, and in your hearts.

We will truly miss Aunt Helen. Always a bright light each time you met and spoke with her. She didn't hesitate to give you her undivided attention which made you feel so special. I can't agree more that Helen was an angel here on earth. She will surely be missed. Sending each and everyone from her large beautiful family big hugs, much love and prayers.
