Henry John 'Hank' Lala Jr. obituary

Henry Lala Obituary

Henry (Hank) John Lala, Jr., age 67, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018. He was the loving husband to Viki Vicknair and father to Stephen John Lala. He is survived by his wife (Viki), son (Stephen), brother Michael, sister in law Susan Scardino, and nephews Austin and Adam. He is joining his parents Henry John Lala Sr., and Marion Werling Lala in eternal life. Hank was born on January 16, 1951 in New Orleans. He was married to his brown eyed girl for 28 years and resided in Metairie with their son. He loved to hunt, play cards, read, and spend time outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and "yelling" at the television when watching the Saints and LSU. Hank was the last graduating class of St. Aloysius in 1969. He continued to support the Brothers of the Sacred Heart when his son graduated from Brother Martin High School in 2014. He loved going to football, basketball and baseball games. One of his times of great happiness was watching his son run cross country. Hank was a fraternity member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) and alumni association. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge #30. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and friend to all that knew him. He was a parade marshal for over 40 years keeping the parades rolling. Life will not be the same without his boisterous voice and opinionated self. Hank will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchatrain Blvd. on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Brothers of the Sacred Heart Foundation, 4401 Elysian Fields Ave, New Orleans, La. 70122. We remember you Hank, and we miss you. So sorry to hear of your passing. You were too young! We wish you had not left us. Sincere condolences and sympathy for your family, wife and son. You made us laugh! I'll never forget what you told someone who call into the LDAF office on Loyola and asked what they could do about the squirrels in their trees and you told them to get a gun and shoot at them!`So we were talking about you yesterday, Ann Giardina Magee from Animal Health, who first heard and let us know of your passing and me, Sandy McKibben, Management & Finance and Albert Jewell and Milton Schleismann from AES. Yes, we're all still working here, and a few others. We were very sad to hear and miss your services Rest in Peace now, Hank!

PRAYERS for the LaLa family - R I P fellow Crusader - Class of 1969

December 1, 2018

Dear Mike and Susan,

I am sorry for the loss of "our" warrior, Hank. Growing up six doors away from you and Hank was a blessing indeed. Perhaps one day we will all reunite in the 1500 block of Mithra Street and start over, huh??
