Johnson, Herbert J. 92, of Cannon Falls, retired Northwest Airlines pilot, died March 16, 2013. He is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Merry Jo; daughter, Diane; daughter, Linda; son, Scott and daughter-in-law, Tesha; grandchildren, Erik, Shea-Lynn (Luc), and Lindsey; brother-in-law, John, nieces and nephews. Visitation 4-7 pm Wednesday, March 20, Lundberg Funeral Home, 5839 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls #507-263-4246. Funeral service Thursday, March 21, at 1 pm, with visit from 12-1 pm, at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church, 7459 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls. Merry Jo, Scott, Herb and Erik - the "flying Johnsons"

It was my pleasure to meet Herb and his wife Merry Jo in 2008 at their home in Cannon Falls when I was writing a book about my Northwest Airlines memories. Herb gave me the grand tour of Cannon Falls, where he grew up and of the farm where he was raised and where he and subsequently his son Scott have farmed every since.
