Hershell E. Parsons

Hershel, the youngest of my Grandfather Harvey Parson's first family, was admired and respected by all his siblings, nieces and nephews. I patterned my life from his. I applied to the Air Force Academy but was rejected - I could not fly. I was accepted by Naval Academy but I rejected - I wanted to be an airman. I majored in Hershel's skill, electrical engeneering. I was called by the Armed Services draft following the Korean conflict - selected the Air Force as my Armed Forces service. ...

So sorry to hear of uncle Hershell's death. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I am priviledged to have worked for Col. Parsons, many years ago, at the West Central Georgia Community Action Council. I appreciate so much the opportunities and support he gave me as a young person. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers, and I will remember Col. Parsons fondly.
