Not sure what to say?

Very sorry for the loss. Looks he was a great person.

We will miss Uncle Irel so much, he was a very special man, and an important part of our lives...R.I.P. Uncle Irel...we will see you again...our prayers are with the family..

Irel was definitely one of those "Greatest Generation" war heroes we hear and read about. Passionate about making sure we remembered the service of the Armed Services protecting us and our freedoms yet never overbearing about any of it - past or present. He is missed.

We loved Irel, and have many fond memories of going to girls camp with him and his sweet wife Boots.

I feel fortunate to have grown up a few doors down from the Barrus family. Irel and Boots were very special people, and will be fondly remembered. I'm sorry to hear of his passing.

Irel (and family) will always hold a special place in our hearts. Although we are far away now (back home in Washington State) we have many, many fond memories of Irel and Boots (and Patt) and pray that your wonderful memories will keep his legacy alive. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during your time of sorrow.

Offering our deepest condolences during this difficult time.
