Isabelle Helen Donaldson

November 23,1909 - October 19, 2011



Isabelle has touched many hearts with her positive attitude, strong mind & love of life - almost 102 years!

Predeceased by her husband Jim, her parents Jim & Ellen Neil, her brothers Hamish & Andy & sister Jessie Hunt.

She leaves to mourn her daughter Pat Klein (Allan) of Edmonton, her son Neil Donaldson (Joan), granddaughters Tara Martin (Greg), Erica Ball (Greg), Loni Martineau "Yves" along with her beloved "GG's" Ben & Haley Martin and Emma & Austin Ball. They loved their visits with GG, always leaving with a hug, "I love you dearly" & a candy in their pocket.

After arriving in Saskatchewan from Scotland, later she met & married Jim, raising their family in Spirit River, Alberta. Isa & Jim enjoyed many years of retirement golfing together in Abbotsford, BC. Here, Isabelle made lifelong friends Dave & Dorothy Hornung & the Pawlovich family. In 2004, Isabelle moved to Nanaimo to be closer to her family.

A special thank you to Dr.Reems and a big hug to Julie, Denise, Paula, Rick & all the staff on the 2nd floor of Malaspina Gardens. They were her extended family & made the last years of Izzy's life so wonderful.

Never bored, she'd often say, "if I had a dollar for every jar of jam I've made or sweater I've knit I'd be rich. Isabelle was a wise old owl & an avid reader which kept her mind sharp. Donations in her memory may be made to Literacy Central VI - Nanaimo.

A true mentor, she lived by her mothers creed 'take It to yourself, & "keep your
tongue between your teeth". She loved a good cuppa or a sip of sherry & loved to
participate in any event. She'd often say "I just don't feel my age dear", & "I've had a good life...."

We love and miss you dearly Nana!
