Not sure what to say?

J.R. symbolized the best of Waco, in his civic endeavors, as a devoted family man and as an incredibly humble, perceptive and perennially upbeat gentleman who sought to spread joy, glad tidings and confidence among others. I'd only known him several years before his passing, but in that time he became one of the very best aspects of living in his neighborhood. I'll miss our chats.

I was privileged to get to know Mr. Closs in the last few months. He was always pleasant and smiling. He talked about his children, and was obviously very proud of them. I enjoyed his stories of playing football for Baylor and of serving in WWII. I was blessed by the love and care that Susan took with her father. May God give you peace as you go on without him. The world has lost a truly special gentleman.

With deepest sympathy,

Dorothy & Ace, I know you will miss him. I enjoyed working for J.R. many years ago. I pray God will comfort you as you grieve.

DEE AND FAMILY,
I WAS SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR LOSS OF JR. I ALWAYS ENJOYED VISITING WITH HIM AT AUSTIN CLOSS AND AT NALLEY'S. HE WAS ONE OF THOSE EXTRA PLEASANT PEOPLE TO BE AROUND.
SINCERELY,
DAVID BETTINGER
