Not sure what to say?

It was my privilege to learn from Dr. Cockrill during my transition to Lockhart ISD, where he was the interim superintendent (twice within one year) .

I asked him why he would be willing serve in that role twice in such a short span of time. His response was simple: "It's the people here. They are just such good people."

For Jack, it was always about the people he served wherever he was.

I will always remember him for that and the other...

I had the opportunity to work with Jack for many years in McKinney and was fortunate to shadow him while doing a course for the superintendency. I told him that it seemed like the book was written about him. He was the epitome of an excellent leader with high moral values. He inspired all of us to be the best we could be. What a legacy. He made a huge difference in all of our lives.
My deepest condolences to the family.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to your family. Mr Cockrill was our coach and teacher at Plano. He was such a fine man and we respected him so much. We had the pleasure of visiting with him at one of the class reunions a couple of years ago and it didn't seem like so many years had passed as we remembered our school days and those State Football championships at PHS.
You are in our prayers and thanks for sharing such a great man with all of us in Plano. God bless each of...

I knew Jack through his association with the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB)where I work. He was one of the finest gentlemen I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. I am so sorry to learn of his passing.

Nancy, so sorry to hear of Jack's passing. He was a great man. Godspeed, Jack, and God bless. Prayers for you and the family, Nancy.

Nancy, I was stunned to hear about Jack's passing. He was my friend and a more ., kind, compassionate person could not be found. He called me after watching the Missouri vs. Arkansas football game and I was delighted to hear from him. I admired him so much as a person, school administrator, husband, father and friend. I have talked to so many of my friends about you and Jack and always knew I had a friend in the hill country which he loved so much! He will be missed by all of us who had...
