I will cherish the fond memories sitting with Jack and chatting about anything and everything. His charm and humor reminded me of my own father. We will miss you Jack.

Dear Mary, We consider ourselves very lucky to have met you and Jack and enjoyed your company over the past two and a half years. He was such an "original". We will always remember his twinkle in his eye, and the many stories. Rest assured that you have a special place in our hearts and will not be alone. Love, Val & Bob Swadling

Do Something Different:
(A Tribute to the Life and Influence of Jack Kodell)
by Robert Benedict
I learned something about life from a great pioneer;
When you need to stand out and rise above your own fear…
“Do something different.”
Whether on a stage, or just out crossing the street;
Be kind and respectful to all those you meet…
“Do something different.”
To win the job, or to win the girl;
To win in life and conquer the world…
“Do something different.”
Whether in times of joy or times of stress;
When order has become a chaotic mess…
“Do something different.”
You know not what each day may hold, or what fate has in store;
You can choose to live just day to day, or to live life with so much more…
“Do something different.”
No matter what, greet each day with a smile;
And share it with others like it's the latest in-style…
“Do something different.”
When friends aren't as fair as the changing weather;
Reach into your coattails for a bird of a different feather…
“Do something different.”
For the rest of us, the show must always go on – there are stories yet to tell;
There are things we must do – and against the odds, we must strive to do them well.
“Do something different.”
Jack had so much to teach and wisdom to impart;
And I took it all in, and I took it to heart.
He used to tell me, “You have the stage, my boy – now do something with it!”
And Master Kodell will always be with me whenever I do something different.

Dear Mary:
We have just learned the sad news and we wish there was something we could say or do to soften your grief.
It was a privilege to have known Jack and to count him as a friend. We will miss him. Just a year ago we were together for a brief time but so enjoyable and so happy we could share this time with you both.
We hope you will find what comfort you can in the fact that he was with you for a long time and that you made his life such a happy one. So many wonderful memories.We also hope that you will find some comfort in the good wishes and heartfelt sympathy of all your and his friends.
Our hearts are filled with sympathy for you in this hour of trial and remember that you have our love always.
