What a beautifully written obituary. I can attest to Jake's selfless nature from the first time I met him. I was dropping by his family's home on Lincoln Ave. in Canton with my new girlfriend Janine Murphy to meet her relations on our way home from a vacation. The drive up from Virginia put a hurting on our car and I remember Jake not hesitating to lend a hand. No warning from us--just a mention of the fact--and no fuss from him.
