James in Army Uniform, bottom: Billy Wentz, James, Jimmy Yandle, Dwight Griffin

I am deeply saddened to hear of James' passing-He and I were great pals in High School, and had a lot of good times together. I learned of his passing thru one of the guys pictured in the photo I included. Needless to say, I will be keeping his family in my prayers, and I know God will be with them all at this sad time. I have not seen James since 1949, but his memory is still with me,and he looks the same as when we were boys.

To Betty and family, I didn't realize how much I missed Jimmy's sense of humor and warmth, until I read of his passing... we worked together at CMUD for all the years he worked there... I helped him with the wiring of your home at the beach... Pam and our family really enjoyed the week he gave us as a 'payment'... he was a good man... and a good friend... our condolences, and I know folks will miss his warm personality and smile... Dear Betty Sue, Deanna & Doug, Tammy & Tommy, Haley & Jake,

My heart hurts and my side hurts when I think of “Jim Bird” today. In third grade when I met Deanna I also got to know “Jim Bird.” I knew he was special right off the bat. He had an infectious smile and laugh. When he did his “crazy” walk I would laugh so hard I cried and my side hurt from the pain. That just egged him on because he kept doing it. He had a joy for living, integrity, and a kind genuine spirit...

Mrs. Connell, Deanna and Tammy,
I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Connell's passing. My sister, Amy Davis Abernathy, let me know of your loss. It is always hard to lose a loved one, but time does help with the pain of loss. I wanted to send my condolences to your family.

Dear Betty, Deanna and Tammy - I am so saddened to hear of Jimmy's passing. It's only been two months since I saw him last at Frank's funeral. I will always remember fondly and cherish the friendship our two families shared with the Hogge's for decades. I will keep you in my prayers.
