Not sure what to say?

Monsignor Petersen will be missed by all those who knew him. I was one of the first babies he baptized at St. Therese. He blessed our family last year with giving our dad his last rites, and his deliverance was impeccable . May he rest in peace. My sympathy and prayers to all the family

We enjoyed il monsignore in our Italian class and we were sorry when he could no longer come.

I admired him when he was pastor at St. Anthony's church in Fresno. It was always a joy to listen to his homilies & lectures.
He was a highly intelligent man and yet humorous and always easy to be with. Pat Gardner

I admired him when he was pastor at St. Anthonys. It was always a joy to listen to his homilies & lectures. He was a highly intelligent & humorous man & he was always easy to be with. Pat Gardner

Jim Petersen was a wonderful influence in the Merced community - memories and loving thoughts .Rev. Petersen will be missed by many.

Monsignor Peterson touched so many lives even from his hospital bed. I feel so "Blessed to have been able to witness his patience in suffering, such a humble Monsignor .Sister Emily Demuth, C.S.C. ato

I liked Monsignor Peterson and remember him at St. Anthonys. One thing that touched my family deeply is the following. Apparently Monsignor Peterson said something that hurt someone in my family. He later reached out and wrote a long, sincere, and remorseful note cleaning it up. It touched my family deeply, so much so that we still have his note nearly 30 years later. Monsignor Peterson you will be missed, thank you for serving the church. Thank you for your grace, and leadership. The diocese...

"Father Pete" changed my world as a teenager opening up a world view of the arts and challenging everyone around him to jump out of their comfort zones and just do it. He will never be forgotten when remembering milestones surrounding the sacraments. "Father Pete" truly was a gentle giant, loving father, teacher, and friend. May he rest in the peace he so richly deserves.

During his sabbatical year at the American College of Louvain, Belgium, where I was then a seminarian, I met this outstanding priest and model for my future priesthood. He introduced me to the existence of Fresno. Who knew that many years later, I would transfer from my home diocese of Providence,RI, to serve here. He was always for me a model of kindness, attentive listening and a great sense of humor. May his great priestly soul rest in peace.
