stephen w acosta. i also sailed with jim for a number of years. i will remember the good times, and continue re-living with all the stories i like to tell.

I sailed with Jim for a number of years and while I had not seen him in a long time he will always be remembered as a good friend! Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Think of the good times often and time will heal.

Jim,Tiffany,Trent and Jayme Akerlund.

Although we have not seen him often in the last few years, when Jim arrived on our shores it was always a pleasure. We will miss our friend's presence in our lives.

It has been quite some time since I last saw Jim, but I remember his humor, his laugh and his generosity. He was truly one of a kind and the Captain of his ship.

We knew Jim for far too short a time but long enough to thoroughly enjoy being around him. Loved his up-front, vivacious, bigger-than-life personality and found his vocation to always be a great source of fascination and entertainment. We always wanted to hear more. Our hearts are heavy with sadness. We miss him already.

Jim was a good friend and fellow Captain. We sailed together, played golf and softball together, and got together socially when we could. His strong, outgoing personality and contagious laughter made him great fun to be around. I will truly miss him. May the wind always be at your back Jim!

As Jim casts off for the final time we will keep his remembrance close at heart knowing that his life was fulfilled with the adventure he so dearly loved.
