Not sure what to say?

Fr. James was one of the Benedictines who made St. Kilian parish in Farmingdale, NY a thriving Catholic community. I am a grateful beneficiary of their efforts. I have been fortunate to know and love Fr. James. He loved being God's priest and he loved God's people. Our Father certainly has a place of honor for Fr. James.

Father James married so many in our family, including Nicole and I, baptized so many, and sadly buried so many. He will be missed. I know Christ to him,"well done my good and faithful servant."

Andy, Harriet, & Amy,
I am so sorry for the loss of Father James. I never met him, but heard that he was quite the character. Smart, witty & funny. May he rest in peace. He led a very full life. You have my deepest sympathy. Love you all.

Father James was a huge presence in our family as an Uncle and as a Priest. He will be remembered as "buddy" and he will be missed by all. I know you are resting in peace with God. Love, Julie Raulerson

We will miss Fr. James. I cherish the memory of his visit to Williamsburg, with Dr Dale a few years ago. I wish also that we could be with you to celebrate his life in Christ Jesus, and how special his life was. Know that we are with you in prayer.
I like the thought that he and his siblings and parents are together in heaven and praising God with all the angels and saints.

Father James has moved to his eternal reward after a productive and purposeful life. He was my high school teacher 60 years ago. He was my friend in later life when I volunteered at Saint Leo University. He and many other dedicated monks built what is today an outstanding Catholic institution of higher learning in the finest Benedictine tradition. I know I am joined by my fellow prep school classmates in thanking Father James for the teaching and guidance we received from him. God bless his...

Father James was a great inspiration to all the people he met. My family was saddened to hear of his death. I take comfort in knowing that he's watching over all of us.

Father James loved his family and friends. I believe everyone one he met became his friend. He had a good life serving everyone. Through his work he was able to experience many wonders. Though it was very hard for him to perform the funeral ceremonies for his brother, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends he did it out of love for them. Father James - thank you!

Al and I are so sorry to lose the last child of my immediate aunts and uncles. He was always a part of my life since I was born. He visited NY often and took me to many Broadway plays and Ballets. He was so special, I miss him dearly (along with my mom). I know the whole Hoge family is now all togther and they are in a better place but it still hurts so much not to be able to hear them, see them, discuss things, just be with them.
We love you, Liz and Al
