Mrs. Mailliard,
My heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. Kathy was a classmate of mine at Christ the King.My parents, Dr. Harry and Charlotte (Cogley) McCarthy(now deceased) were both friends of yours and your husband. I later was fortunate to work with Dr Mailliard at Bergan.

I have worked as Dr. Mailliard's social worker since 1987. He brought me over to Creighton from Lutheran Hospital in 1989. He was a pioneer in those days as he saw the importance of the team approach to cancer care giving. He saw that cancer patients had special needs for support and resources and was first in the region to employ a full time oncology social worker in the outpatient setting. He saw service as his "responsibility" and chaired the Professional Education Committee of the American...

I was extremely sorry to hear of the death of Dr. Malliard. He has been my doctor for the past 26 years and has kept me going when all regulary courses of therapy were exhausted. I don't know what I would have done without him through the years and even recently, he was always working with me to give me the best and newest treatment possible. He was a brilliant physician and will be missed by anyone who ever had the good fortune to call him their doctor. You and your family have my sympathy...

Mitzi:
Barbara's indisposition prevents my coming to the wake and funeral personally, but I do want to convey to you our heartfelt sympathies. As you know, I had something to do with bringing Jim back to Creighton when he finished training at Georgetown, I'm still glad I did that, and I hope you are too. As I worked with him in recent years, I came to understand just how passionate a patient advocate he was. I don't know when we'll see the likes of him again, if ever. He'll...

We are saddened by the passing of Dr. Mailliard. He was my wife's cancer doctor and he was the most caring and compassionate doctor that I've ever met. Our prayers are with your family. God Bless.

I had the pleasure of working with DR. Mailliard at the cancer center and then the CCOP. I will always remember him for his passion for research and his love for his patients and his family. His passing will be a great loss to all who knew him. I will miss him...Penny Anzures
