Not sure what to say?

Dear McCarthy Family,
John and I are devastated that we can't be with you all at this very sad time. We are at the Cape getting our houses ready for tenants.
You know how much your parents meant to us. Memories of them will remain with us forever. Our relationship with them was very special and longlasting.
Our deepest sympathies to all of you and to your families. It is hard to lose a parent as well as a grandparent.
You are all in our prayers.
John and Lu Dufault

To Jim's family,
It was always a fun time when Jim and your mom visited with our mom and dad (George and Elise Doyle)at our home. Your dad had a great sense of humor and loved to tease us kids. I have fond memories of him. It's hard when you lose a parent. My prayers are with you all.

I was a student of Dr. McCarthy's and graduated in 1982. I was honored to not only have him as a professor, but also worked for him for 3 1/2 years. He was a mentor, a professor, and had a huge impact on my life. He pushed me to always strive to be better, and follow my dreams. And, he was so involved in making sure we all received an excellent education. My thoughts and best wishes are with his family.

It's hard to imagine that he could be gone, given that I still have nightmares that a Dr. McCarthy 24-page final exam is tomorrow! What a great teacher and a great man. As a young girl I thought he was fun and he brought us new friends. As a student I saw him as a deeply caring teacher. As an adult I cherished his friendship with my father. His visits were wonderful restoratives for Dad.
I'm so sorry he has passed. My love to all of you.
Monique (Nicky Doyle) Spencer

Dear Barbara,I know my Dad, George Doyle would want to be with you at this time in spirit. You and Jim were precious to Elise and He, and Terry.
You and Jim were blessed with such a wonderful family.
My prayers and thoughts are with you.
Denise Doyle Hughes

Mike,

My deepest sympathy on hearing of the death of your dad. I will pray for him.

To Mike,
I am sorry to hear of the passing on of your father. Of course he was one of my teachers at Assumption and a terrific one at best. I hope you are doing well in Pittsfield. It's been 31 years since our graduation. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the general membership of the 16th Cavalry Association that represents the veterans of the 19th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron [Mechanized] who proudly served in General Patton's 3rd Army in Europe in WWII, I would like to extend our condolences to the McCarthy family. We salute our fellow veteran. We were grateful to have him as a member.

Sincerely,

Board of Trustees
