Not sure what to say?

We are so sorry to hear of your father's death. My dad (Claude Cole) and your dad met at Wayne State College. On a hot summer day in August of 1952, my dad drove from the farm in Holt County and picked up your dad so they could join the Navy! Sixty years of friendship...wow!

Jim Schenk. A great man. A man of great love. We were crazy about him. He built Castle Barrett (our family business). After my Mom died Jim would come and visit my Dad and then low and behold, Frank and Jim decided Frank needed a new deck and Jim and the boys arrived and worked so hard and Jim would just keep making suggestions to the boys and they would just listen and go about their business. How he loved his family. I would have garage sales and he would come and hang out at my parents...

John and Caleb, our thoughts and love go to you and your family for the loss of your Dad and Grand Dad.

I work at Vics Corn Popper, and Jim was a regular there. I have only been there for roughly two years, but this man had a heart of gold! We used to talk over ice cream, quiz each other over German words, and sing and dance around the store. Whenever Jim was around it was all smiles with us! Although our age is very differently, we were practically bestfriends! He helped me through so many family issues, and in a short amount of time, the man greatly influenced my life. He is going to be...

So many memories snowmobiling for so many years! May Jim find comfort with Margaret. May the many friends lift the families spirit. Your parents will remain in your heart. God bless you all.
Sue, Marty, Parker and Sammie Anderson.

My sympathies and prayers are with all of you at the passing of your dad. I remember the family gatherings when we were little kids, and Jim was often the life of the party! May he now rest in peace with your mom, and my parents Mel and Bonnie. Love to you all.

My wife & I attend Lutheran Church of the Master and his regular attendance is a testiment to his faith. When we'd leaving church together, he was always happy and whistling. It never failed to lift my spirits. Our prayers are with all the members of your family.

Thanks for your Military Service to Our Country.
Past Commander V.F.W.

What a wonderful man! I worked at Vic's corn popper where Jim visited frequently, he taught me so much in our short visits! I absolutely loved talking with him about love, life, adventures, and of course telling jokes! He will be truly missed.
