Not sure what to say?

We are sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. Your Mother and Dad were wonderful neighbors. I remember all the Easter Egg hunts, the goats, pony, chickens and rabbits. Then as we got older we babysit for you kids. My parents (Smiths) still have some of his drawings on the wall in their home. My Mother was so honored when your Mother called and wanted her to make a wedding dress for Rachinda. Bless you all you are so lucky to have had such wonderful caring parents, and they were so proud of you...

My heart goes out to the Wheat family in there time of sorrow. To Kim (whom I went to school with)& the rest of his children, my deepest sympathy. Mr. Wheat was a wonderful & inspiring art teacher to have.

I was a fellow teacher with Jim at Shawnee Mission West for 20+ years. He was a great teacher and artist. I was lucky enough to have him paint my picture as a retirement gift and it has a special place in our home. My wife and I send our sincere sympathy to all his family.

Halli - I know you and your family are hurting, and I really don't know what to say that could make it better. But I want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

TO THE WHEATS-

WE JUST WANTED TO TELL YOU WHAT A GREAT INFLUENCE YOUR DAD HAD ON LINDA AND I AND OUR BOYS JOSHUA AND JACOB. LINDA AND I MET UP IN ONE OF HIS ART CLASSES - 1964-65. WE ALWAYS TRIED TO STAY IN TOUCH WITH HIM WHEN WE WOULD COME BACK TO KC FROM MPLS. JIM WOULD ALWAYS WANT TO KNOW WHAT WE WERE DOING CREATIVELY. AS YOU KNOW, JIM WOULD COME AND VISIT US AFTER HE RETIRED - USUALLY TWICE A YEAR (FEB & SEPT). SOMETIMES HE WOULD BE HERE ON HIS BIRTHDAY. JIM LIKED TO PLAY CARDS...

I came to Shawnee Mission my senior year (1952) and Mr. Wheat was my Art teacher. I am sorry to hear of your loss and to many of ours also who attended his classes through the years. Robert Jackson

Mr. Wheat was my Art teacher at SMW from '62-'65. I had the greatest respect for him as he encouraged each of us to do our best. I wasn't the best artist in the class, but he gave me A's when he knew I was doing MY best. He was a great teacher.

To all the Wheats ! May the peace of my Lord Jesus be with you . I am sorry for the loss of your father . He was a great man , with an even bigger heart ! With lot's of Love the Lerma's

I did not see the place to leave my condolences on the Amos Funeral Home's site. So, I am writing it here:

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I'm a good friend of Rachinda's, but had lost touch the past few years. My prayers are with you all.
