In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

When a gentle, giant Sequoia falls in the forest does anyone hear? Only if the Sequoia is Jim Hinton. A special man with true understanding of how to live life to the fullest, Jim was so special to so many. He was an amazing husband, father, and friend. We will never forget his deep, warm welcoming voice, his amazing dry sense of humor and the way he would always make us feel like members of the family. Jim, as you look down on us, give us the strength and guidance to follow in your...

A big man with a big smile and a big heart left, leaving a big void in our hearts.
Love to Bette and the kids.

I had the opportunity to meet Jim while caring for his unt Rose, Jim was a giant in person and on his generosity and caring nature, Jim always made time daily to talk to us He will be miss

Jim was my first college professor, first class in the morning of my first semester at MPC, Fall 1985. What a great guy!!! He was such a great big bear of a man with a huge laugh, tremendous kindness, and a generous teacher...we read Leonard Cohen and Simon and Garfunkel as poetry, which really fueled my interest in music of that era. Jim always opened windows and doors for us, and always with the jokes early in the morning that kept us awake. Thanks to the Mrs. whom I know was the great...

We just returned from a trip to Colorado and were schocked to learn of Jim's passing. Jim and Jack shared many years at MPC and several years sharing cancer stories. The amazing thing was that both were almost always optimistic and happy with life. We will miss Jim's positive spirit! Our deepest sympathy to you, Bette and family!

Those who live in memories are never truly gone -- Aloha dear friend Jim. Our love to Bette, Jen, and Greg.

Jim and Luanne
