Janette Coates Obituary
Janette loved life; she cherished her family and friends. She could always be found farming and working in her yard. She loved nature and animals, and she was an accomplished artist. Janette was a devout Christian, and truly had a servant's heart.
Janette was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Benjamin Coates. She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Coates; two daughters, Teresa Powell and husband Phillip, and Sherri Lea; son, Mark Coates and wife Dorinda; two grandchildren, Robbie Hicks, and Jessica Hall; two great-grandchildren, Brayden Hall, and Peyton Hall; step great-grandchild, Carley Creech; brother, Jack Hodges; sister, Mary Ann Sanders; and grand-dog, "Trixie".
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 16, 2016, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at East Lawn Funeral Home in Kingsport, Tennessee. There will be a celebration of Janette's life to follow at 7:00 pm in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Shelton II officiating.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
Online condolences may be made to the family at www.eastlawnkingsport.com. East Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park has the honor of serving the Coates family.

Janette was a regular customer that came in to Kroger a few times a week. She loved to joke and bring smiles to everyone's face. She was truly a great individual that will be missed. Sorry for your loss & her family will be in our prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss of this remarkable woman..I NEVER SAW HER THAT SHE WASNT SMILING AND SO KIND....I'm sure the loss of laughter will be so hard to accept....she was truly a great person..and will be remembered with the kindest thoughts...May god ease your sorrow.....

Mark, dorinda and Paul,
Mike and I are sorry for your loss. May you find peace in knowing she is in a place where there is no pain and suffering. She was a such a sweet person and a wonderful hostess! Our stays in kingsport were some of our best trips and "Ma" made sure of that. We will always keep her in our hearts and memories. May her Memory be eternal.

My thoughts and prayers go out to each family member. I'm so sorry. I only met her once. She was so nice. It was at a crazy right race in Kingsport,tenn. She begged us to come to her house and spend the night and they were 5 of us. She sure was nice . love you Jessica
