TENEWITZ, James, "Jay," of Westwood. Loving son of Jim and Gloria (Lewis) Tenewitz (originally from Emerson). Dear brother of Christie Tenewitz and her boyfriend, Eric Smith. Beloved nephew of Wendy and Frank Papaleo, Sharron (Mueller) Lewis, Sandra and John Bolger, Debbie Ferlanti, Lori Tenewitz, Kathy Tenewitz, Peggy Toale, and the late Bobby Tenewitz. He had many loving cousins. Born and raised in Westwood, Jay was a master carpenter and worked with his dad, a general contractor. He was a gifted musician, playing drums and harmonica, with his friends and his dad. He was a huge (an understatement) fan of The Grateful Dead. A memorial service, performed by Pastor Ryan Baitzel (of Emergence Church), will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 155 Second Ave., Westwood, on Friday, December 30, 2016, at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to StraightandNarrowInc.org. All of Jay's and our friends are welcome to come and celebrate his life!

Gloria and Jim and the entire Tenewitz Family, we are so very sorry for the loss of Jay. We have had the honor of Jay working on our house over the past four months. He was such a gifted craftsman, truly talented, and we spoke often about the absolutely solid, detailed, and beautiful work being done in our home. Jay was an enjoyable and kind presence as well, working for hours, listening to his music, chatting with his Dad. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
