JEAN ARANAZ

Jean Aranaz, a native of Fresno, died peacefully at St. Agnes Medical Center on Sunday, October 2, 2011, at the age of 95. Jean was born in Fresno to Minnie and Felix Paladino on September 23, 1916. Jean was known for her great sense of fashion and humor. She loved riding horses, cooking and dancing. She was a talented seamstress. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Jean will be missed by all whose lives were touched by her presence. She leaves behind Joe Aranaz, her loving husband after a marriage of 72 years. She also leaves behind her sister, Phyllis Provenzano of Fresno; her sister-in-law, Fermina Harvey of Fresno; her daughter, Janet Mattson and her husband John of Moraga; and her son, Joel Aranaz and his wife Juanita of Fresno. Jean leaves behind five loving grandchildren, Matthew and Elisabeth Treadway, and Carey, Julie and Kelly Aranaz. She also leaves behind her step-granddaughter, Jessica Mattson Jordan and her husband Chris and their one year old son Brian. A Graveside Service will be held at Fresno Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at 2:00 p.m.
