JEAN THEISSEN Obituary

June 9, 1935 - April 28, 2016 OKLAHOMA CITY Loving wife, mother and grandmother, Jean Marie Theissen, passed away on April 28, 2016. She was born on June 9, 1935, in Mankato, Minnesota, to Donald and Erma Schultz. She attended school in Mankato, graduating from Mankato State College with a degree in elementary education. When she was in junior high, she met the love of her life, Darell, and they married Aug. 12, 1956. They had three children: daughter, Lynn (Cory) Bowker, of Ponca City; their children, Maggie and Jackson Bowker; son, Steve (Beth) Theissen, of Edmond; their children, Logan, Adam, and Ryan Theissen; and son, Jon (Sylvia) Theissen, of San Antonio; their children, Joshua and Matthew Theissen. "Grammy" was a doting, proud grandmother and nothing made her happier than having her whole family gathered together at her house for the holidays. Jean cherished her friends and enjoyed every moment spent with them. Some of her fun times with them included playing golf, bridge and attending Town Hall lectures. She was a longtime member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, active in Bible study, Whiz Kids tutoring program and a shopper for Mobile Meals. Survivors include her loving husband, Darell; sister, Donna (Dick) Crawford, of Topeka, KS; and her children and grandchildren. The family would like to express their gratitude to Jean's caregivers, Patricia and Ebony. A Celebration of Life Service following a private entombment will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2016, at the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. Donations may be made to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 2717 W Hefner Rd, Oklahoma City, OK 73120.
