Banks Funeral Home Obituary

Mrs. Jeanette Suggs Lewis, 84, of Poulan GA, died Sunday January 31, 2016 at Phoebe Worth Medical Center. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feburary 3, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Poulan Cemetery. The Rev. Grady Morey will officiate. Mrs. Lewis was born in Turner County on December 24, 1931 to the late Charlie Green and Ressa Mildred Murphy Suggs. Mrs. Lewis has lived in Worth County all of her life. She was formerly employed with Coats and Clark for 15 years and was a Homemaker. Mrs. Lewis enjoyed reading, shopping and was a member of Poulan Free Will Baptist church. Survivors include her children Ruby Jones (Willie), William (Junior) Lewis (Donna ), Billy Lewis and Wayne Lewis, all of Poulan; siblings; Mattie Lou Ogletree of Tifton, Lois Brown of Sylvester , 14 Grandchildren & 14 Great- Grandchildren. Mrs. Suggs was preceded in death by her husband William (Knot) Lewis on December 3, 2000, children Kathy Carter, Debbie Carter, Abigail Brown and Robert Lee Lewis; siblings Kenneth Suggs, Bill Suggs, Charlie Wade Suggs, Annie Bell Burger, Dorothy Conley and Geneva Caudler. The Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service at Banks Funeral Home. Please sign our online guest registry at www.banksfh.com.
