Jeanette Schwabe Obituary

Published by Turner Funeral Home Spring Hill Chapel | Florida Hills Memorial Gardens on Jun. 28, 2011.
Jeanette M. Schwabe 1923-2011 Jeanette, 88, of Weeki Wachee, FL passed away while in the loving care of HPH Hospice on June 28, 2011. Jeanette was born in Chicago, IL. She served in the US Army from 1945 to 1948 as a Lieutenant Registered Nurse during World War II and served in Korea. After finishing her service in the Army she married then moved from her hometown Chicago to Largo, Florida, in 1956. Jeanette continued to work as a Registered Nurse at Morton Plant Hospital, Tarpon Springs General Hospital and filly Lykes Memorial Hospital unti she retired. After retiring, with her strong belief in God, Jeanette served as a medical missionary to other countries such as Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Philippians, Russia and Africa. Her passion to serve was the greatest for the people of Sri Lanka; Jeanette was faithful to her missionary service until she was in the late 70s. Jeanette also proudly belonged to the Women’s Army Corp-Veterans Association – Chapter 97, volunteered on the neighborhood crime watch, taught Sunday school classes and assisted in the mission’s ministry at her church. Jeanette has always loved the water. She enjoyed boating, fishing and the scenery at her waterfront home on Weeki Wachee River. She loved nursing, loved serving the Lord and loved her family and friends very much. Jeanette was a loving, giving and sweet natured woman, yet strongly independent and truly amazing in all her endeavors. She unselfishly gave to the Lord, her family, friends, patients and those in underprivileged countries. Jeanette was survived by her son Roy Schwabe (spouse Theresa) of New Port Richey, FL; her daughter Judy Schwind (spouse Jack) of Seminole, FL; her daughter Diane Gormley (spouse Tim) of Hudson, FL; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. We are at peace now knowing you have true joy being with your Lord. “…Well done, thou good and faithful servant… Matthew 25:21 We love you and will miss her dearly! Your family
