Jerry Wayne Beasley, Sr., 79, of Lexington went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the Hinkle Hospice House.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 28, 2020 in the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with Pastor David Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Lexington City Cemetery with military honors.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.
Mr. Beasley was born in Guilford County on May 5, 1940 to the Rev. Oliver Herman Beasley and Pearl Lorraine Kearns. He was a retired superintendent, having worked for Environmental Air Services and was a member of Madison Heights Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Beasley proudly served his country in the US Navy. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, Jerry Wayne Beasley, Jr., Robert Dwayne Beasley and James Edwin Beasley; a brother, the Rev. Robert Lewis Beasley; and two grandchildren, Eric Wolfe and Mickey Cameron, Jr.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 41 years, Linda Purvis Beasley of the home; three daughters, Michelle Beasley Cameron and husband Mickey of Sanford, Kelly Young Gobble and husband Robbie of Lexington, and Tina Young Oakes and husband Ryan of Lexington; ten grandchildren, Darin Helms, James Bonham, Tamara Weathers, John Beasley, Christopher Beasley, Holly Golden, Shane Cameron, Cody Tyler, Ryane-Nicole Oakes, and Kamryn Oakes; twenty two great-grandchildren; and last but certainly not least, his precious K9 companion, Bitsy.
Memorials may be directed to Madison Heights Baptist Church at 214 Andrew Sink Rd, Lexington, NC 27295.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to WFBH – Lexington Medical Center and to Hospice of Davidson County for their compassionate care of Mr. Beasley.
