Not sure what to say?

I met Jerry before either of us entered doctoral programs. He ran and exercised like a fiend and danced with abandon. He brought that same drive to his scholarly work, inspiring me to try to match his accomplishments over the years. Jerry was a good, caring person. Its been ten years but he is still missed.

For some reason I become concerned because I hadn't heard for so long from Jerry. We were friends for almost 40 years, and I am deeply saddened by finding out almost a year later that he is gone. I'm truly sorry because I would have been there to honor you.

Herma, I am so sorry to hear about Jerry. I wish I would have known to be there for you. My heart goes out to you, Beccy, and the rest of the family. He had a wonderful life with you! Love, Nancy

Herma, I'm Patricia Jones, Richard (Dick) Jones' sister. I spoke with him today and he told me about your loss of Jerry. I am so sorry, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Jerry was my brothers friend since the early 50's. He was also a part of my life for many years. A great person, who loved his family and would do anything for his friends. I am so sorry for your loss. May you always remember just the good times....I'm sure they were many.

Herma and family. You have our deepest sympathy. I vividly recall Jerry during my early years at VCU and how he strived for excellence. He had a terrifice sense of humor and was a delightful person. We will miss him. Michael and Linda Spinelli

Dearest Herma,
We remember Jerry with great fondness. He was a 'one of a kind' person. He was so welcoming to us when we visited and first started teaching at VCU. We enjoyed his jokes and his wise guidance through the years. You were such a positive and tempering influence in his life and the children and grandchildren made his life full. Our love and prayers go out to you and your family. Phyllis and Don

Jerry your memory will always last.Herma my thoughts are with you and your family.
