Not sure what to say?

We lived in the same stake, where Jerry was a quiet, devoted, Latter-day Saint. I knew his son, Jeremy. A member of our stake once said to me, "Have you ever heard Brother Washburn pray?" I hadn't. This man said, "He is a man of great faith." I knew another man who served on the city council while Jerry was the Mayor. This man said that of all he learned from anyone in his then 60 years of life, he learned more about leadership from Jerry in the few years he served on the city council as he...

To the family,

I have had the wonderful opportunity of associating with Jerry over the past few years. He truly is a wonderful person and a noble son of God. Please know that life is eternal, that death does not terminate our existence, that the greatest joys of family life can be carried on beyond the grave. My condolences to the family during this time of separation but we all look forward to someday being with Jerry again.

Sincerely,

Patrick Casaday

Betty,
It was a distinct pleasure and honor to have known you and Jerry. You were an adorable couple in those beginning dating days. It's so amazing...it's been a lifetime! My memories of Jerry are of a bright, tender and caring young man. It is my fervent prayer that you and your family will experience the comfort only the Savior brings.
Warmest wishes.

Betty,

I was sorry to hear about Jerry's passing. He was a great guy. I would have been to the funeral, but I was in Phoenix, AZ when I heard the sad news. Also, I'm sure Grant and Donna would have been at the funeral, but are in Spain. We send you and your family our love and condolences at this time.

Love,
Clara Shuman Bennett

I want to echo Elder Strunk. President and Sister Washburn have left such an indelible mark on my life. I have deep respect for him and truly have never met a better man. I never wanted to let him down and still feel that way. Sister Washburn, I feel terrible that I will be out of town for his funeral and hope to see you soon. Love you President!

I was elected Mayor of Kamas City the same time that Jerry was elected Mayor of Orem and I have served with him in many positions in the Mountainland Association of Governments. I have deep respect and admiration for his honest and caring character. He has been a special friend and a great example to me . My deepest condolences go to you as a family. Sincerely, Mayor Lewis P. Marchant

President Washburn was a giant among men. Words can't express how much he and Sister Washburn influenced my life through their love and example. I love both of you and pray the Spirit will be with the Washburn family during this time.
