Not sure what to say?

Well Jim, we're coming up on our class's 50th reunion later this year and it just doesn't seem possible and neither does your leaving us so soon. I can still remember our travels up Fairhill Rd. in the Latin bus or the "cattle truck" to Woodhill Park for our home baseball games. I know when we gather for our reunion later this year, I'll be thinking of you Jim and the good times we shared on the field and in the classroom. I know there will be many, many more Latin men from our...

So sorry to hear of Jimmys passing. He will always be Jimmy Michals to me, as I am a very old friend from Holy Family grade school. We kept in touch sporadically in high school, running into each other, rarely, at Latins mixers. Then we were able to double-date with two other HF alumnus for Latins Junior Prom, me with George, and he with my best friend Mary Beth. He was just one of those really nice guys. I remember playing softball games at the old Corlett School, and watching the boys...

I had the privilege of officiating many football games that Jim was involved in for many years. Some of these include the seasons when he was the head coach at Chanel. Other years he was coaching at Case and JCU. Jim Michals was always a class act. I will never forget how he treated me and my colleagues. He was the consummate professional that believed in relationships of mutual respect. Respect for the rules of the game and respect for your teammates, your opponents and the officials. ...

Coach Jones

Jim was a friend. To all his classmates, teammates, and players that he coached. He lived a great example of honesty and Christian life.
I spoke with him last St. Patrick's Day last year. We spoke about the Latin days, our coaching experiences, and health issues for men our age. I wish we had stayed in closer contact through the years. I know I'll see him again when this life is over. My sincere condolences to his family and to all those whose lives he touched.

Donna and family, I was so saddened to hear about Jim's passing. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
