Chandler Funeral Home - De Queen Obituary

Mr. Jimmy Carl "Jim" Morris, age 71, a resident of Texarkana, Texas, died Thursday,
November 11th in the Christus St. Michael Health System, Texarkana, Texas.

He was born to Chester Carl and Nettie Mae Ruth Morris at De Queen, Arkansas, on April 10, 1939. He served in the National Guard with the U. S. Army. He was former owner of Jim Morris Logging and 3-M Transportation in Lockesburg, Ark., and was present owner of Jim Morris Logging of Texarkana, Texas. Jim was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Lockesburg before moving to Texarkana. He was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church of Texarkana. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Prescilla Denson Morris of Texarkana, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Danny Carl and DeAnn Morris of Lockesburg, and
Michael Joe Morris of Texarkana, Texas; two grandchildren, D. J. Morris, and Hannah Mae Morris; one brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Wilma Morris of De Queen, one sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Ralph Fisk of De Queen, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Jim Morris are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home and will
be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 13th in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with
Rev. Ray Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Ida Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 12th. The family will be at the home of Danny and
