Jimmy “Jim” Lewis Bowden, Jr. 49, of Woodbury, GA died Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at Warm Springs Medical Center, Warm Springs, GA.

Jim was born December 26, 1969 in Montgomery, AL, the son of Rev. Jimmy L. and Brenda Gill Bowden, Sr. He was a former employee of Mountville Mills in LaGrange and had worked in the grocery industry for many years prior. Jim enjoyed fishing, antique shopping and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed playing his guitar, writing and singing gospel music. Jim was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Woodbury, GA. He was an avid fan of Alabama Football.

He is survived by his wife Tracy Bowden of Woodbury, son Tyler Bowden of Manchester, parents Rev. Jimmy L. Bowden, Sr. and Brenda Gill Bowden of Woodbury, sisters Peggy McGalliard and her husband Mike of Montgomery, AL and Melaine Bowden of Woodbury, and father-in-law Gary Hamby and his wife Marilyn of Pine Mountain.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Faith Baptist Church, Woodbury with interment following in the Woodbury Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church.

I didnt know Jim, but Im remembering my dear friend Peggy today. I know the faith and trust of God is with her and his family. Im so sorry for this tragic accident that took Jim to his eternal home so young, I know Peggy and her mom and dad are at peace knowing hes with the Lord. Theres no other comfort than this.
