Joan Christina Downs

Joan Christina Downs-Wade, 51, passed away on February 22, 2013 at her home, in Arlington, TX. Joan was born on May 29, 1961 in North Bend, Oregon to Bobby Durant Wade and Donna Mae Eckles-Wade. Joan was raised in the military and grew up in Albuquerque, N.M., Denver, Co, and Ft. Worth TX. She graduated from Arlington Heights high school in Fort Worth, TX in 1979. After high school she began work for Compadre Graphics as a Camera Operator where she worked for 3 years. She also worked for Lockheed Martin, the U.S. Postal Service, Tandy Corporation, RGIS, and Do-Rite Detail. Joan was happily married to Bobby Downs for 13 years and resided in Arlington, TX. She enjoyed nature and had a deep love for nature photography. She loved the times she spent vacationing and taking wildlife pictures on the deer lease in Llano, TX. Joan also loved tennis, swimming, hiking, dancing, and country music. She dedicated a large part of her life as a loving caregiver for her mother, mother-in-law and her beloved husband during each ones time of terminal illness. She enjoyed going to parks with her grandchildren and spending time with family and friends. Joan was a member of Calvary Temple in Fort Worth, TX. Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bobby Downs, her mother Donna Wade and father Bobby Wade. Joan is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Christina and Doug Solis-Schulman of Frisco, TX, her daughter Tiffany White of Morgan Town, WV; her brothers Bobby Wade of Fort Worth, TX, Tim and wife Gina Wade of Roanoke, TX, Mitch and wife Velda Wade of Hudson Oaks, TX and Mike Wade of Jacksonville, Florida; her step sister Glynda Coats of San Diego, CA; her nieces, nephews, and beloved dog Keto. She is also survived by her three grandchildren Alexis, Donavyn, and Chloe Schulman of Frisco, TX.
