Joan V. (Lonergan) Lodge, 96, of Smithfield, Rhode Island, wife of the late Alfred M. Lodge, died at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence, Rhode Island, on Wednesday, January 1, 2003. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, January 6, 2003, 5-8 p.m., at Pontarelli-Marino Funeral Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, January 7, 10 a.m., at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, 11 a.m., at St. Edward Church, Branch Avenue, Providence. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated to Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island, P.O. Box H, Providence, RI 02901-9979. Arrangements entrusted to Pontarelli-Marino Funeral Home, Providence, Rhode Island.

Mrs. Lodge was such a kind and gracious lady. It was an honor to have known her. Our deepest sympathy and love to her entire family. The loss of a mother is never an easy road to travel.
