Not sure what to say?

I worked with Joan at Trailwood for a year and a half. We remained friends through the years and went to dinner every Friday with a group of teachers. I loved her laugh as I told her stories. She loved to shop and bring back little treasures for her house when we went to the Ozarks or day trips to Weston, Mo. My thoughts go out to your family this Christmas. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Joan was a special person! She was so kind, warm-hearted, bright, genuine, and loving to everyone she met. Natalie, Nathan, and I are truly blessed to be part of her family. How peaceful to have Bart beside her as she left one world, with Jamie there to greet her in the next world. She will truly be missed, but I will forever remind my children that their Nana is always looking down on them with that comforting smile! Peace be with Bart, and the entire family during this difficult time.

May Spirit continue to bless you, Aunt Joan, now and always. I love you. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Bart, Mike, Vickie and Donna.
Godspeed...

"Aunt Joan" was family, intertwined with my own for all of my upbringing. As children, my brother and I would play with her sons (my cousins) after supper time. And after we all got older, my mother and her continued to have their weekly get-togethers. They would reminisce for hours. I will always remember Aunt Joan's boisterous laugh. I am so glad to learn that Bart was there with her when she passed. I loved Aunt Joan. She never failed to send me a lovely Christmas card, and every...

I thought of Joan as a good friend and a leader as we participated in Adventures in Learning at the Shepherd Center in Kansas City. She always contributed her well-thought-out ideas in all our planning sessions. We will miss her presence and will think of her often. We send her family our sympathy.
