Not sure what to say?

Joe Andrews, WoW- what a great man, teacher, principal, and friend. Few-- No, no other that I know, ever cared for students at EHS like Mr. Andrews. I'll always remember him for coming to see us all at Mias Amigas.
Jack Stanford, class of 54

Mr. Andrews was my high school principal @ Eldorado in the '50's. He never forgot us and came to our reunions. He will be missed and was a special man. Glenna Edmondson Johnson, Arlington, TX

Mr. Andrews was principal in Eldorado High during our high school years in the mid 1950's. He as a great principal, educator, friend, and role model. Very stern but in a kind and gentle way. He had a way of making each student feel very special.

He served as a sponsor of the Class of '54 Senior trip to Bandera. Through the years he never passed up an opportunity to remind us with accusations (all false!) that we had attempted to drown him in the...

Mr. Andrews was one of my high school principals in Eldorado. I saw him at my 50th reunion in Eldorado in 2005, and, of course, thought I would see him at my 55th in 2010. I probably had not seem him in 40 years, but he looked the same! I remember him standing in the door of the office which looked down both hallways, at the change of every class - walk, not run, down the hall!

I am very saddened at the loss of Dr Joe, my longtime friend/mentor and very distressed that I am unable to attend his funeral in the morning, but my thoughts and prayers will be with his boys and their families. I will miss his sweet smile and quick wit. As his secretary for many years at Sonora ISD, he taught me much. He was an educator of the highest order and the essence of a southern Christian gentleman.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Andrews taught me when they were at Mertzon. Mrs. Andrews was my sixth grade teacher and Mr. Andrews taught me in Jr. High. This was in the 1960's. I know your family will miss them both. I thought a lot of each of them. My prayers are with your family.

Andy and Steve: Although I can't make it to the services tomorrow, you will be in my prayers.

Mr. Andrews was a great man and a great educator. He was my principal in Eldorado. This was back in the early 1950`s. I had the pleasure of visiting with him this past June at Mias Amigas in Eldorado. We will miss him . Our prayers are with you at this time. Vernon Phillips, Roby, texas.

What wonderful educators/friends...Mrs. Andrews was my sixth grade teacher in Mertzon. After lunch each day she would read CADDIE WOODLAWN to us...still one of my favorite books.
Mr. Andrews was our superintendent and he also taught us 7th grade history...such an inspiration to us all.
Thanks for the precious memories and your many years of service.
Dr. Wanda J. Sawyer Zamorano (Yes, you inspired me to get my doctorate in education!)
