Not sure what to say?

What a love Brother Barnes showed to me. He showed the unconditional love of Christ to me always. His heart and his hands were always open anytime. From college to now he has truly been the best pastor I have ever known. He truly loved the Lord and loved all that came through his doors. I will truly miss him but he is rejoicing and dancing with the Lord and we all celebrate with him. I hope he gets to fish there. Can't wait to see you one day.

In 1980 I got saved at a Chi Alpha meeting. Shortly after that I met Brother Barnes and was baptized in his Church. I remember that he always greeted everyone at the door with either a handshake or a hug with a great big smile on his face. Pastor Barnes had a BIG heart and was always ready with a good word or a helping hand. And I loved it when he would get going preaching! In a booming voice he would declare God's Word and we learned alot from him. I'm so thankful that he cared about...

Sis. Liz, Cindy, Mike & Don & your families-Bro. Barnes has been a part of our lives since I was about 13 years old-when First Assembly was on 190 East. He has always been special to me and my family. He won my Dad to the Lord in the early 60's. Thank the Lord for Bro. Barnes. He is very special to us. We will see him again because now he is in our future with Jesus. Love you guys very much, Peggy & Randy Reynolds

Pastor Barnes was the first person I met when I walked in the First Assembly God Church of Huntville,TX. What can I say about this wonderful man of God that hasn't already been said, other than I will always be truly blessed for Paster Barnes welcoming all of us from SHSU to come and worship and fellowship over the years. Paster Barnes I know that even now as I write you are walking with Jesus and I know that all of us would agree and shout, "WELL DONE, WELL DONE"!!!

To our loyal customer, you'll never be forgotten. Love the Tractor Supply Crew @ store # 448 in Huntsville, Tx.

If it was not for Pastor Barnes I would not be sitting in my office at Grand Parkway Church in Porter, Texas today. He saw something in me that no one else did. I will truly miss my Pastor and the man who took a chance on me in ministry.
To the family: All you were big part of my life while I attended Huntsville First Assembly of God. Thank you for sharing your father with so many.

Mike & Barbara, Mike & Pam, Cindy:
I am so sad to hear of "Uncle Joes" passing. I was always so comforted by his gentle, calm voice and personality. He was there so often for us. I am thinking of all you, as I know you will miss him. Keep your memories alive in your heart, as you are comforted by the fact that your loss is heavens gain!

Brother Barnes taught me as a young Christian that..."you can't plant cockle-burrs and reap butter beans". No one I know could say so much by saying so little. He had a "profound simplicity" that followed him....and went before him. He was an easy person to love. :)

I have lived here for 35 years and Joe Barnes is a name that is just a part of Huntsville. Mike and Barbara I pray for the peace of God during this difficult time of saying a final goodbye to a beloved Father and Father-in-Law.
