Joe and I were sheriff's deputies in the 1970's at BCSO. I remember him as reliable and always questioning and learning. I was sorry to see him go to probation. We met again in the 1980's when both of us were state prosecutors, Joe in Abq and me in Colorado. I liked him very much. He was one of the good guys.
