John Douglas Alley Sr., 82, died Thursday, March 16, 2017 at his residence.
Born in Spring City, John was the son of the late James Benton and Ida Elizabeth Crisp Alley. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. John was an entrepreneur having many occupations during his life. He and his wife, Janice, moved from Ohio back to the Spring City community 33 years ago. John was of the Protestant faith and a member of the American Legion Post #203.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Lexine Lea Alley Daniels, brothers Charles Edward Alley and James Alley Jr. and sister Gladys Alley.
John is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janice E. Alley of Spring City, son John Douglas (Sue) Alley Jr. of Spring City, daughters Linette (Gene) Yarborough of LaFayette, Georgia, Lurlene Deardurff of Spring City and Liane Williams of Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia, brother Carl Alley of Spring City, seven grandchildren including Elizabeth and Brittany and several great grandchildren.
A private graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday March 18, 2017 at the Spring City Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
