Not sure what to say?

On behalf of the geology faculty at Grand Valley State Univ., I express our sympathy to John's family on their loss, and the loss to the profession. John was enthusiastic for earth science, to the benefit of his students.

Jackie: I'm so very sorry for your loss! John was such a fun, intelligent, gentle, playful, and inspiring instructor on campus, and I enjoyed getting to know you both just a little bit better these last few years. A great light has gone out, indeed, and MCC will feel the dimming.

My deepest condolences to John's family at this difficult time. I will always remember John for his dedication to science education, his love of life and of learning. He is definitely one of the greats in the profession of education

Jackie, I am so sorry for your loss. John was a good friend, and he will be missed by so many.

Dear Jackie and Family, Dave and I have fond memories of John when we worked at MCC. I was saddened to learn of his passing and know the deep loss you are feeling as I lost Dave this past March, as well. Hold family and friends near and rely on their support to get you through.

Although I just met John at a workshop in Virginia in 2010, it was clear that he was a true advocate for science education. He would be very pleased at the progress that has been made in the Geo2YC movement, in which he had a strong voice. Jackie and the rest of his family can be proud that his legacy will live on with this group.

A true and valued educator and friend. My condolences to family, friends and colleagues who will miss him greatly.

My deepest condolences during this difficult time. Our thoughts are with you.

Dear Jackie, I am so sorry for your loss. May the support of friends and family give you peace as you mourn his loss.
